Don't fret, it's not my son....it has been me. I have been spending alot of time in Ceramicville and Tasselland getting ready for an upcoming craft show.
In an effort to display my tassels in various ways, I did manage to paint an old lamp that was sort of weird...I don't know how to describe it but I think they were going for some animal print. What animal....you got me...?? It was like Tim Burton weird.
Is it Giraffe?? Leopard?? Monkey?? It almost looks like they were trying to antique it and something tragic happened instead. That however is not the case as the shade that goes with it is also suppossed to be some sort of suede reptile skin look that you don't notice until you turn the lamp on!!
I got it on sale.
A little paint, a little patience and voila!
I antiqued it for real this time.....no really I promise I did!!
Ok big whew!!
So while I'm painting, a conversation starts up about who is the best artist in our family. My youngest son who has never seen my 'artwork' because all my sketches are B.C. and lets just say a wee bit explicit. I was very symbolic in my artwork and no doubt a psychiatrist would have a field day decifering the stuff in my head that came out in my work. So I pulled out one of the only drawings I had left to show off a little
my son was speechless....
